Regulation Watch + Bilingual Citation Navigator

Keep a personal watchlist, check official source files when needed, and prepare Indonesian–English working references that show exactly which file you used.

In short: This is not a legal-status database. It helps you record source-file evidence and citation details before a lawyer or researcher checks amendments, revocation, consolidation, commencement, and current legal effect.

When is this useful?

This tool is useful when you need to show exactly which regulation file was used, when it was checked, and where it came from. It is not designed to decide immediately whether a law remains in force or has changed. Its role is to keep the source trail organised before legal analysis begins.

Realistic fictional example

Preparing a memo for a foreign party

A lawyer is preparing a memo for foreign directors. The working English reference helps them navigate the subject, but the official Indonesian text and current legal status are still checked before any conclusion is given.

Realistic fictional example

Organising sources for a compliance team

A compliance team saves the official URL, check date, and file hash before meeting a vendor. A changed file triggers further review; it does not prove that the law changed.

Realistic fictional example

Keeping research citations traceable

A researcher returns to their notes months later. The exported reference identifies the file, date, and SHA-256 previously used, without presenting the English wording as an official title or translation.

The practical benefit is a cleaner source trail. Questions of amendment, revocation, consolidation, commencement, and current legal effect still require a separate qualified review.

What the current beta does

  • Keeps a private, account-specific watchlist for the initial set of eight regulations
  • Runs a manual technical check against official peraturan.go.id source files
  • Records retrieval time, last check, technical status, and SHA-256 where available
  • Builds a bilingual working reference that can be copied or exported as TXT, JSON, or CSV
  • Shows whether a prepared English reference exists and whether it has been human-reviewed

What it does not decide

  • A changed PDF or byte sequence does not prove that a regulation was amended or revoked
  • An unchanged file does not prove the regulation is current, consolidated, or legally effective
  • A working English reference is not an official title, legal opinion, or sworn translation
  • Pinpoint article mapping and automatic legal citations are not included in this beta

The beta starts with eight regulations

For now, the list covers Laws 12/2011, 27/2022, 40/2007, 24/2009, 2/2014, 6/2023 and 1/2023, plus Government Regulation 35/2021. This is not yet a complete database of Indonesian laws.
